The colour extraordinaire, Pantone, officially named 2020's Colour of the Year as Classic Blue - shade #19-4052. They describe the colour as, "instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era." It's also described as "the sky at dusk", which I think is a truly beautiful image to think of.
I go straight to the idea of sitting on a beach, either before sunrise or sunset and pinpointing that beautiful blue that fills the sky, draping tranquility down onto a world settling into the night or before they wake to the madness of the day.
Colour is determines a great deal in the fashion world and when Pantone release a colour for the year, it usually makes it's mark. For myself personally, blue will always be a colour in my wardrobe, in any hue. It's always been my favourite colour. From the baby blue that covered the walls of my childhood bedroom to the royal blue silk dress I have tucked away in my cupboard. Maybe it's because the colour reminds me of the sea (I'm an Aquarius after all) or the sky.
Whilst it already fills a place in my wardrobe, this year I think the colour blue will be making it's way into the beauty wardrobes of all women across the world. How? By dominating your eyes and bringing them further to life.
I've always loved blue for an eye look, though I've never truly worn it on a regular basis. However I've seen it worn by countless women effortlessly and it truly brings a bold edge to a look. It's given me the courage to take the hue on as a replacement for a classic black wing or brown toned eyeshadow for occasions.
To boost a simple look, I've simply taken a blue eyeliner pencil and substituted it for my classic black eyeliner. I also found an old eye dust in a slightly lighter shade, paired with a brown in the crease to make the glitter a little less subtle. Personally I think this eye look elevates a staple nude lip and matte face.
If you were after extra dreamy inspiration, I've found the right picks from some of my favourite celebrity make-up artists and Pinterest:

Lots of Love,
