London Fashion Week: The SS20 Runway Round Up

Over the past weekend, my hometown held fashion week and honestly I was gutted to not be around it all again! I love LFW, purely because the city is so buzzed and everyone is dressed to the nines, which gives me an excuse to be more extra. Sadly I watched it all happen through Instagram and LFW website, but that didn't stop me from wanting to round up another week of new fashion for SS20. So here's the lowdown on London Fashion Week!

TOP 4 RUNWAY SHOWS:

Victoria Beckham:
I absolutely love Victoria Beckham's personal style and that is effortlessly reflected in her brand. Each collection speaks to me with such ease, it just suits my style easily. It's true feminine, powerful chic.

Burberry:
Riccardo Tisci does it again this season with a neutral dominated collection, full of tailored looks. There's nothing more to say other than I loved it. Pure and simple. Also Kendall Jenner came out as a blonde and I was here for that alone.

Halpern:
If I'm being completely honest, Halpern is not a brand that has caught my attention before. But that's definitely changed after LFW. It was full of sparkle, I mean even the runway had a giant crystal chandelier. It was bold and fearless, I like that. Also, I'm a sucker for sparkle right now which is so new.

David Koma:
Everything about Koma's show spoke to me; the denim, the leather and oversized coats, the true edgy femininity. I feel that it's city chic and perfect for the urban woman out on the town. I definitely need some of these pieces.

THE HOTTEST TRENDS:

Pretty Pastels: Whilst colour is definitely set to be a trend throughout fashion month, pastels are specifically making the cut. They were predicted for AW19, but it seems as though they'll run right through SS20 too. I love it because pastels are super pretty and feminine.

Florals For Spring? Groundbreaking: It's no surprise that florals are making their appearance in SS20 collections across the board. As Miranda Priestly said, it's "groundbreaking". But I'm not complaining, it's another pretty trend to add to the list. SS20 is looking girly.

Ruffle Tiers: Ruffle and tulle style tiers are making a statement for SS20 and it's adding to that super feminine vibe. I personally think they look like so much fun and add more dimension to outfits. I may just invest in this trend.

Deep Purple: Pastel colours have a rival for next season and it's name is purple. And I mean bold purple. It's appeared in a few of the London catwalk shows and I think we should all take the hint.

Statement Silhouettes: From fitted to floaty to everything in between, silhouettes aren't going to be boring for Spring Summer.

THE BEST OF STREETSTYLE:

Sourced through Instagram and Vogue, I've come across a few looks that I love and will probably copy in due time. I don't need to say much, just have a look for yourself!

And just like that, halfway down, halfway to go. Fashion Month is flying by and next it's off to Milan, where the big guns come out. I'm talking Gucci, Fendi, Prada and so many more. I worry about how much I'm going to share in my next post because honestly, this one was hard enough as it is, as was NYFW. Milan is going to be a whole other ball game. Yikes. Get ready for a long post next time kids!

Until then...

Lots of Love,

Emily xx
