How I'm Transitioning Easily from Summer to Autumn

Outfit: Jumper - Zara (last season) / Skirt - Boohoo / Slides - Aldo / Belt - New Look / Sunglasses - Quay x Desi / Purse - Charles & Keith (similar here and here)

Summer is gone, Autumn is here. Where is the time going? Honestly, I don't even know. Even though the sun's hasn't completely gone away, the cold winds are definitely settling in. Here in Colombo, it's been raining cats and dogs non-stop and it feels like a typical English day. So the need to grab out a jumper hasn't been missing.

With that, I was thinking about what can I wear in weather that's totally unpredictable? Rain or shine. And it hit me - it's not so hard.

Take a light jumper, a cute bodycon skirt and accessorise. You've got the best of both worlds. Of course you can pick a thicker jumper on the days you need it, but a light piece will be enough that you won't die in the sunshine, nor feel cold in the breeze.

This Zara jumper I'm wearing is super oversized and comfortable and when paired with this old Boohoo bodycon skirt, I thought it needed a little extra. Adding a belt gives me more definition, then paired with bold coloured accessories takes the look from basic to statement.

What's your ideal way to transition from Summer to Fall? I really like this look because I could truly dress it up or down. I could easily pair sneakers or heels to make it the perfect day-to-night look. It would go well with a mini bag or a massive one and if the day is a little colder, then I can chuck a jacket on top! Maybe a blazer or leather jacket? It could work. Are you excited about Autumn or are you already missing Summer? Let me know in the comments below.

Lots of Love,

Emily xx
